The first ten days of Dhul Hijjah
The ten days begin on 1 Dhul Hijjah, expected on Friday, May 7, 2027. Those who intend to offer a sacrifice refrain from cutting their hair and nails from the start of the ten days until the sacrifice. Fasting the Day of Arafah, for those not performing Hajj, is among the most virtuous deeds.
Dhul Hijjah is confirmed after the crescent is sought on the evening of 29 Dhul Qa’dah, so dates may shift by one day and can differ between countries.
